Datawrapper

Let’s try making some basic data visualizations using Datawrapper. I’ll do a demo, but it’s usually pretty self-explanatory. And, they have great introductory documentation. To get started, just click “start creating”! Login not required.

You’ll need a dataset, probably an Excel or csv file. If you found one yesterday, try that! If not, feel free to use one of these sample datasets:

• General Social Survey extract

• Palmer penguins data

• (Tidy Tuesday datasets would also work)

One thing that can complicate matters is Datawrapper’s expectation of how data will be formatted. (They are not based on tidy data!) However, they have good documentation of the format they expect. For example:
